Doniphan County (standard abbreviation: DP) occurs as county in the State of Kansas, located in the northeastern corner of the state. These are bordered by Nebraska to the north & Missouri to the east. When of 2000, the people is 8,249. A county seat is Troy.
History
Doniphan County was established August 25, 1855 and organized on September 18, 1855. These are known as for the U.S. cavalry commander Colonel Alexander W. Doniphan (1808-1887) of Liberty, Missouri, who played an important part in the Mexican-American War. He was the eager partisan in the effort manufactured to extend slavery into Kansas.
